Putnam County Sheriff Deputy Kevin Radovich was dispatched to a Lake Peekskill home in Putnam Valley at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, where there was a report of a man attempting to break into the residence.
According to Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr., the investigation determined that Peekskill resident, Jamon Johnson, 44, who knows his female victim, allegedly pushed his way into her home and forcibly took a cell phone from her.
The investigation found that Johnson allegedly also damaged property and pushed his 44-year-old victim into a coffee table, causing bruising to her hip and thigh.
Johnson was arrested and charged with robbery and third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies; he was also charged with criminal trespassing, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, misdemeanors; and harassment, a violation.
Noting that he had two previous felony convictions, Justice Louis DiCarlo remanded Johnson to the Putnam County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to respond to the charges.
